Improving Clinical Performance

Lattice^PRM is a HIPAA and HITECH-compliant virtual platform by which healthcare clinics can educate patients, collect performance feedback and distribute marketing material. LatticePRM was designed to 1) improve the global clinical performance of healthcare organizations by promoting individual accountability for care provided, and 2) to enable service recovery by the rapid identification of patients’ concerns. The system is not a replacement for standard or mandated benchmarking services, but is rather a tool to help improve the rating of an organization.  


Our approach differs fundamentally from other patient satisfaction programs. We think that by providing patient feedback in real-time to providers (physician physician-extenders, nurses and technologists), we can motivate behavioral change. Improvement in individual behaviors should positively influence the quality of service delivered by the whole organization as measured by patients’ perceptions or the analysis of any third party benchmarking service. Finally, the immediacy of feedback generated by LatticePRM will in many cases enable service recovery. This is simply not possible with systems that provide delayed feedback or benchmarking data. 

Of all emergency department visits, only a small percentage results in admission. We are focusing on the approximately 80% of patients who are discharged from the emergency department and are not included in the HCAHPS pool (who are required to be survey-naïve). Utilizing this larger population, we are able to generate more statistically powerful results that can guide process improvements without compromising compliance or the integrity of the HCAHPS process. 

In the emerging environment, practitioners are not always able to provide as much time with patients as they may like to. Consequently, patients are often dissatisfied with abbreviated and mechanical healthcare experiences. By leveraging personalized electronic communications, it is possible to enhance the perceived value of the customer experience beyond a short clinical visit.
